What
This is an hands-on event. We'll be learning some basic blacksmithing techniques using forge, hammer, anvil and a little sweat. Designed for beginners ... no experience necessary:)
The workshop is led by Michael Sebacher, a local artisan and teacher. See his bio here.
You'll have a chance to explore a working blacksmith-artisan studio located on a working horse farm. You'll learn some basic blacksmithing techniques and enjoy the company of others who share your interest.
Participation is limited to 4 per session to optimize safety and ensure a quality experience.
When
3 days are reserved ... June 23, 24, and 25. There will be a morning session and an afternoon session each day.
Morning sessions from 9am to 1pm
Afternoon sessions from 2pm to 6pm

Workshops are conducted at the Hammered Heart Forge Studio located at 272 Lowell Drive in Sharpsburg.
We're located on a working horse farm please mind the ducks, riders, dogs, geese and other critters on the way in:)
Important Things to Remember

Dress for the weather and the environment. This is a working studio ... dirt, grit, and heat are always present.

Gloves are required ... leather is best. Plastic/nylon/polyester gloves are unsafe. The cheap, thin leather ones really work best... Bring your own or use ours.

Safety glasses are required and supplied. You may bring your own.

Long hair should be tied back or under a hat.

Nylon or polyester clothing is unsafe ... cotton, wool, or leather work:)

Taking photos/videos is definitely encouraged but mustn't interfere with others working.

Those under 17 must be accompanied by a related, responsible adult.

This is not a child-friendly environment and unsafe for children 12 and under.
