NOW ... Please we'd love to hear any ideas you might have about workshops you like to see...

Lastly ... an exciting idea ...I’m considering a Knife Maker Lab …. makerspace program …. gives access to my studio and use of equipment for either an hourly rate or a monthly membership fee.

Basic program outline:

I would be available on site for advising (good and bad advice)/guidance/best guesses, etc

The HHF Knife Making Workshop is a mandatory pre-requisite for membership.

Leather for knife sheaths and guidance on leather sheath projects available

Members are required to be ‘checked out’ on equipment before using... e.g. must demonstrate proficiency, safe operational knowledge with equipment.

A safety briefing and strict adherence to safety practices is required.

Storage for projects/supplies may be available.

Materials (steel, brass, wood, leather) can be purchased or member supplied.

Grinding belts and perishable/consumable supplies may be purchased or member-supplied.

No charge for propane, welding gases, torch gasses.

Members also get discounted workshops and priority booking.

Equipment list:

2 forced air propane forges, 2 belt grinders, 2x72, and associated fixtures, MIG welder, Lincoln SP175, coal forge, band saw, drill press, metal lathe and vertical mill … all hand tools, grinders, etc

If this program interests you, would you prefer a monthly membership fee or a daily/hourly rate?

If this program interests you, would you prefer a monthly membership fee or a daily/hourly rate?
Monthly fee
Hourly/Daily rate

What monthly/hourly rate would be reasonable? (hourly rates would necessarily be in 2 hour blocks) ... approximately-ish figures are fine:) ?...

When, generally, are you most likely to schedule studio time?
